1) Tell us more about yourself.
I’m Rashidah Yusof and my practice involved with documenting through loose detailed architectural drawings. Having a background in Interior Architecture, I’ve grown a deep appreciation and interest in Art and Architecture as well as continue to explore and experiment in different medium. Art is a practice that has a continuous learning curve. The most important thing is to have a deep interest in the art you’re trying to create.
2) How did you start your NFT journey?
I was introduced by Hammy, The Curious Unicorn and I actually took time to jump into it because I know nothing about it. So I did some research and find a way how to fit in my art style into the space. I discovered this collaboration work by No-To-Scale x Monoloque, thats really convinced me to give a shot which suits my art style.
3) What are the success and challenges you face as an NFT artist?
Success to me is when my work get noticed and appreciated. I feel grateful I get opportunity to showcase my work digitally and virtually at few exhibitions and proud to represent Brunei at CAWA Singapore, Zardoz Club and recently in Seoul, Korea. I think the challenges is how to stay relevant in the NFT art scene while stay true to my own identity.
4) What are your thoughts on the NFT art scene in Asia?
The amount of talents in NFT art scene in Asia is incredibly sick! I made lots of connection with creative friends from over the world, thats a positive side of NFT. We come here for nothing but art.
5) Tell us more about your work, past and current, especially those that you have made as NFTs.
I’m always open to learn something new, explore any medium of art because i believe at the end of the day, it does help you grow and to see life in different perspective.
Ever since I joined NFT, I learned to develop my traditional art to digitally. I created a Symmetry series, where the initial ideas are inspired by my architectural drawings itself and experiment them into a symmetrical form.
6) Name some of your favorite NFT artists and pieces that you have collected.
I look up to some artists and to name a few; Nate Hill, Shamlu, Pier Paolo, Kamulch, Mari K/MadMaraca, Zancan, Guillaime Cornet etc. I also discovered the beauty of generative art when I get to know Yazid, a very well known in the NFT community especially in generative art scene, he is also the founder of BruneiNFT.
